AGRI4POL and FarmBioNet join forces to support biodiversity-friendly farming

18 July 2025

The AGRI4POL project has officially partnered with FarmBioNet, a Horizon Europe initiative focused on enhancing Biodiversity-Friendly Farming (BFF) practices through knowledge exchange among farmers, foresters, researchers, advisors and other key stakeholders.

FarmBioNet (Farmer-focused Biodiversity and Agricultural Knowledge Network) aims to reverse and strengthen biodiversity-friendly farming practices by fostering knowledge exchange and integrating research findings into real-world agricultural systems. To achieve this, FarmBioNet is building a European Network comprised of diverse national networks. The consortium consists of 19 partners, including research institutions, ministries, NGOs, SMEs, and farming and advisory organisations.

AGRI4POL and FarmBioNEt have signed a commitment to mutual support, enabling both projects to build on the activities outlined in their respective strategies. It serves as a guiding document to strengthen their relationship and identify areas of shared interest for closer coordination. By clearly defining these areas, the agreement helps both initiatives pursue their individual goals while maximising the impact of their efforts, ensuring that insights from both projects are amplified through shared channels. Such collaborations could include extending invitations to each other's conferences, webinars or workshops, as well as providing dissemination of each other's activities, results, or information.

This partnership marks an important step towards greater alignment across European initiatives working to strengthen biodiversity in agriculture.
