At the beginning of June, the president of INRAE, Phillipe Maugin, visited Dijon with other dignitaries to observe the progress of AGRI4POL’s work there. They went to the INRAE CA-SYS platform – an experimental farm where one of the AGRI4POL project experiments is taking place. An experiment on faba bean genotypes and their pollination services is underway. Pollinators visiting different faba bean genotypes are being monitored by automated cameras linked to an AI model and human observers.

This work is a direct implementation of AGRI4POL’s Work Package 2: Genetics of crop floral traits governing pollinator attraction: future pollinator-smart crops. And also, of AGRI4POL’s Work Package 4: Multifunctional ecological infrastructure (EI) for pollinators and co-benefits from field to landscape.
