AGRI4POL has developed illustrations for its plant species - Sunflower and Faba bean

16 December 2025

AGRI4POL has added a new visual layer to its communication toolkit with the creation of two original illustrations dedicated to the project’s main study species: Sunflower and Faba bean. Designed by Denitsa Peneva, the illustrations aim to make the project’s research more approachable; they highlight key features of each plant while drawing attention to their relationship with pollinators. Each plant is shown alongside a pollinator species.

The Sunflower illustration features the western honey bee (Apis mellifera), while the Faba bean is paired with the garden bumblebee (Bombus hortorum). Together, these pairings offer a visual reminder of the close links between crops and pollinators that sit at the heart of the project.

The illustrations will be used in upcoming presentations and outreach materials, helping researchers and partners tell the AGRI4POL story more visually and engagingly. They will also appear as part of a creative, detachable sticker set, designed to support interactive communication and spark conversations at events and meetings.

By combining scientific detail with visual storytelling, these new illustrations help make AGRI4POL’s work on pollinator-friendly farming easier to explore, share and remember.
