Tereza Prasilova, Simona Zverinova and Prof. Dr Julia Leventon from The Global Change Research Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences – CzechGlobe, part of the AGRI4POL project, presented at the World Biodiversity Forum 2026 in Davos.
Their presentation focused on the transformations toward pollinator-friendly agriculture and the navigation of multiple needs and wishes across diverse European farming systems. They presented preliminary findings from their research regarding the adoption of pollinator-friendly farming in five European countries: Czechia, France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. Based on focus groups with farmers, advisors, NGOs and public authorities, the study explores how different stakeholders perceive the social, economic, agronomic and environmental benefits and trade-offs of these practices, as well as the challenges of implementing them.

The study will also examine how regional policies and local environmental and socio-economic conditions influence the uptake of pollinator-friendly farming and will outline the next stages of the research, including policy analysis and in-depth interviews.

Sharing the preliminary results and discussing these topics with the research community, presented at the World Biodiversity Forum in Davos, helpеd raise awareness for the opportunities and obstacles on the way to the transition towards sustainable, pollinator-friendly farming. It also helped exchange thoughts, experiences and knowledge not only within the AGRI4POL project but also in the wider research community and strengthen future collaborations.
