From 29 June to 3 July 2026, the International Farming Systems Association - Europe (IFSA-Europe) held its 16th meeting in Montpellier, France, organised by Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Montpellier (CIHEAM-IAMM). AGRI4POL was invited, alongside its sister projects Butterfly, ProPolSoil, VALOR and RestPoll, to take part in a special thematic session titled: "Socio-economic Valuation and Co-Design Pathways for Pollinator Stewardship in European Farming Systems".

The AGRI4POL coordinator and research director at the French National Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment INRAE, Dr Adam Vanbergen, presented the project’s overall aim and work programme. After that, Dr Henning Nottebrock from the University of Freiburg shared early results with the scientific community on pollinator-friendly farming practices, associated co-benefits and their acceptability to farmers. His work in the AGRI4POL project is focused on Work package 1: ‘Multi-actor co-design of research and end-user options for promoting pollinator-friendly farming’, aiming to provide farming practices that support pollinators.

Dr Sophie Thoyer concluded the AGRI4POL presentation showing initial results from a large-scale contingent valuation study of French farmers. The study surveyed their willingness to engage in pollinator-friendly farming actions and the economic consequences. The presentation was part of a series of project presentations, including those from many PhD students working on the values of pollination services in different studies across Europe.
