On 14 January, AGRI4POL was presented during an AGROECOLOGY Partnership webinar, introducing the project to a broad international audience of researchers and stakeholders working at the intersection of agriculture, biodiversity and sustainability.
The presentation was delivered by AGRI4POL project coordinator Adam Vanbergen (INRAE), who outlined the project's aims, objectives and overall approach. The session also included an open discussion, allowing participants to ask questions and engage directly with the project's work.
The webinar was organised under the AGROECOLOGY Partnership (2024-2030), a Horizon Europe-funded initiative that brings together the European Commission and 72 partners across 26 EU Member States. The initiative works towards a shared vision of supporting the transition to agroecology, so that farming systems become resilient, productive and prosperous, while also being climate-friendly, biodiversity-positive and people-centred by 2050. The Partnership aims to achieve this by coordinating efforts across Europe, addressing knowledge gaps in agroecology, promoting user-driven and open innovation, and supporting place-based approaches that reflect regional and territorial specificities.
Interest in the AGRI4POL webinar was high, with 317 people registered and 148 participants attending live. Participants joined from 44 countries across four continents, demonstrating the global relevance of discussions around pollinator-friendly farming and agroecological transitions.
The geographic distribution of participants included:
- Europe: 22 countries
- Africa: 13 countries
- Asia: 7 countries
- North America: 2 countries
The participation in such activity facilitated a synergetic approach between Horizon Europe projects and has given an additional exposure to AGRI4POL and its aims.
